About Us
Sickle Cell Shine Initiative (SCSI) is a community-led group based in Southeast London, working across London and the UK. Led by people with lived experience, we raise awareness and improve conversations about Sickle Cell Disorder (SCD), especially in the most affected communities.
We close gaps in knowledge, representation, and fair support by centring the voices of people with SCD and their carers. Through education, advocacy, community work, and partnerships, we challenge stigma, expose systemic inequalities, and push for kinder, better-informed care in health, social, and community settings.
We are committed to dignity, inclusion, and collective action. People with SCD should be heard, respected, and included in decisions that affect them. We listen, work together, and aim for a future where no one with sickle cell is ignored or left behind.
